Currently...JULY??

Oh my goodness, It's JULY!
I can't believe it.
This year is going too quickly...
And I'm getting really nervous about teaching in August.

I mean, I can't WAIT to meet my littles, but it will be MY classroom.
It'll be my responsibility to teach the sweet children how to read and love it.

Does that ever scare you?
I know there's a lot of you veteran teachers out there who have taught 10-20 years.
Give me some advice! I'd love to hear some wisdom from you!

This is the first time I'll have linked up with

and I'm loving the idea of a Currently post!
I hope you enjoy it!
Here it is:

If you haven't caught my video tutorial, here's the video!
You can also watch my past tutorials by clicking the page link at the top under the header.
I put it there just for you!

Take care!

  1. Hi! I think every teacher is a little nervous the night before school starts (or as it's getting closer.) This is going to be my 13th year, and I'm so excited to meet this new batch of kiddos, but also nervous about what the year will bring. Have a great summer!

  3. I love reading No! David to my students! He is so hilarious! Thanks for the video tutorial on Dropbox. I don't know much about dropbox so I'm happy to have your resource to help me figure it out. :)

    1. You're welcome Lisa! I'm glad I could help you out! In No David, I always skip the page where he's running down the street naked. I figure kindergarten kids would go home and mention it to parents. I'd prefer not getting that awkward phone call. :)

  4. I can't sleep for at least a week before school begins. I think teachers are often more nervous than the students-so much to prepare! :)

    1. That will so be me. I'm glad I'm not THAT stressed yet, but I'm sure I'll lose some sleep before the school year starts.

  5. This is my third year teaching, and I agree, there's a bit of excitement/anxiety with a new group. I wish I had been blog stalking for my first year of teaching. It would have helped so much! My advice is to remember that you are NEVER alone! Reaching out to your followers & other bloggers will help you get through the "what in the worldddd??" moments! Good luck!

    1. Meg, thank you so much for your advice and for following my blog!! I'm so glad you did! I'm definitely glad that I'm making so many connections to other teachers before my school year begins. I'm hoping that I'll be able to have a ton of questions answered during the year! :)

  6. I've taught for 10 years and no matter how many years you've taught..every teacher still gets those butterflies in her stomach on the first day. Just remember that the kids feel the same way, and you will create a fun and successful year TOGETHER!! Becoming a little family..your home away from home:) I'm your newest follower!!

  7. Debbie Diller has some great books: I LOVE her Literacy and Math Workstations books and Making the Most of Small Groups! They are all on Amazon. Great reads that won't take you long at all to get through!

  10. Budget is such an ugly word, lol! I knew there was a reason I liked you so much, lol...I LOVE Maroon 5! Something about their music makes me happy!

We all get nervous as a new year approaches. It's a new batch of kids/personalities/parents...and a fresh start! If your blog is any indication, you'll have an extraoridinary first year! Best of luck to you!
